Longer Than a Month!

Hello everyone!

I'm now in the United States for over one month! If I think about it it goes really fast! It feels like the days are just passing by. One school day after the other. One football match after the other. One weekend after the other. One wunderful moment after the other! Fun at home, fun at camp, fun with fiends and neightbours! I wish that would never end!

Marquette is a really nice town where you can do a lot of stuff! On next Saturday it is Homecoming of the Nothern Michigan University and a few guys from the football team and me are going to that game of the Wildcats vs. Michigan Tech.

Before that game starts we will go to a german restaurant. ''Das Steinhaus'' is said to be very good; but I will proff that! ;)

Last Wednesday was my first Rotary Club meeting! All the Rotariens in the Marquette West Club are very nice and super friendly! Thanks for the nice birthday card! I was really surprised! Thanks a lot for that!

I wish this exchange year would never end! I really miss everything that I left back home at Germany! But I also know that I will miss this wonderful year! At this point I want to say thank you to my parents that give me the opportunity to earn this great experiences of exchange!
THANK YOU!!!

Missing Germany,
Marek

It's time - FIRST POST from the USA

Hey everyone!

I think it is time now! My first post from America after over 3 weeks here.

Let me start at the beginning!

My flight was not really exciting. My second flight from Chicago to Marquette was delayed of 3 hours so I had to stay in Chicago for 8 hours! Not really exciting...
But finally I got here and my hostfamily picked me up. It was nearly midnight when I arrived at the MQT sawyer airport.
The first night was good. I was very tired of the long flight.
On the next morning I had my first football practice. I loved football from the first time on! It is really fun!
The time went on and I familiarized me to my hostfamily and they to me! I found that you can do a lot of silly things with a little brother!
On my first weekend I had my first rotary meeting. All the inbounds in my host district are so awesome! We went on a fair and I got very very sick! But I didn't throw up...I was really sick!
Before the school started my parents took me to their camp at the Lake Independence! We made tube rafting and I did waterski! It is really nice their and I look forward to be there again!

Then on last Tuesday was my first school day! I was really nervous but on every class that I have there are some buds from my football team! That's really nice.
I can say that American school is very different to German school and I guess I like the American school system more than the German. :D
I found a lot of new friends because they have their lockers near to mine or I sit with them at the same table in the class. Also funny is that I am a senior in 12th grade with my 16 years!
My schedule looks like I have 7 hours every day but school starts at 7:30 am and ends at 2:21 pm. On every day it have the same lessons at the same time so my day starts with English class, than human anatomy and physiology, after that I have algebra 2 which is follow by 2 lessons of Health Occupations. My 6th lesson is learning center where you can do your homework and in 7th lesson I have US government. I really enjoy my schedule!

Right now I'm sitting in the bus on my to Wisconsin where me and my team have football match! Hope we win!

See you next time when I write something in my blog and when I post my first photos of the exchange year!
Best greetings to my home country!

Marek
